The ways in which we Think, Speak and Act have a significant impact on our daily activities, our successes and our relationships with others. Working to control our self-talk (Think), the words we use with others (Speak) and how we Act in various settings are all important pieces of our daily lives that deserve active consideration. Use the TSA series of worksheets with yourself or your team to identify the things that you value, those that you’ll work on and those that others see in you.

Being aware of and controlling how you think, the internal voices that you have giving you feedback, are a key to gaining confidence.

ONE Softball has interviewed and worked with many champion performers. They all note that their internal voices, the strong and weak talk tracks that they have, make an impact on how they work and how much confidence they can create for themselves.

Download the worksheet below, think about your own inner talk track, and write down some examples of the things you say to yourself. By becoming aware of these voices you can help strengthen the ones that are helpful and minimize the ones that hold you back.

Coaches, this is a great short exercise to do with your team. Parents, share this with your daughter. Simply having a conversation about self-talk and noticing that one can have more control than they might think, is a great way to begin to increase confidence and other championship skills.
